Clinics & Services
In addition to general doctor and nurse consultations we are pleased to offer the following clinics and services:
Minor Surgery - a service for minor surgery procedures. We also provide a liquid nitrogen clinic for the removal of warts, verrucas and other skin lesions, every 3rd Wednesday.
Family Planning - a full family planning service providing advice on oral contraceptives and the depot contraceptive injection. Patients who are interested in coil fittings or Implanon implants need to make an appointment with a GP.
Baby Immunisations - Baby Immunisation Clinic is held every Tuesday between 11.30 – 13:30. All appointments will be booked through Reception and consist of a 15 minute slot. Pre-school children will no longer be seen in Baby Clinic and will need to book a routine Nurse appointment. To arrange an appointment please contact Reception on 01302 854521. We also offer eight week baby checks. Babies and children who are ill should not attend at these times. The Health Visitors do not hold a health clinic at the practice but details of the local sessions held can be obtained from the Health Visiting Team.
Long Term Illnesses - the practice nurses review all patients with Asthma, COPD, CHD, Diabetes etc. You will be sent a letter inviting you to attend the clinic, if relevant, on an annual basis. Some of these clinics require you to see a healthcare assistant for some base line tests before seeing the nurse. We do advise that all patients attend these reviews but if you decide that you would rather not attend please let us know so that we can update our records.
Foreign Travel - please contact the surgery well in advance of your holiday and collect a travel questionnaire for completion and return to the nurse who will advise which vaccinations you require. There may be a charge for certain vaccinations.
Treatment Room - our nurses run a treatment room clinic for dressings etc. This is by appointment only.
Ear Clinic - held on a Monday afternoon. Please book an appointment at reception.
Flu vaccinations - Flu vaccination clinics are held from September. Patients with liver, heart, neurological, kidney or respiratory disease, diabetes, asthma, low immunity, or are over 65s eligible for the vaccination. Carers also qualify.
Other Services - we also have a regular physiotherapy clinic on a Monday. Appointments for this are via referral from your doctor.
